How you earn

BioAktiva sales agents earn commission on every order from customers in their territory. The commission structure is built to reward what matters most: bringing in new customers, and keeping them ordering.

8% standard commission

On every order you place on behalf of an existing customer in your territory. Calculated on the wholesale value of the order, exclusive of VAT, paid on settlement.

10% new customer commission

On the first 3 orders from any new customer you bring to BioAktiva. This rewards the work that goes into prospecting, demonstrating, and converting new accounts. After 3 orders, the rate reverts to 8%.

2% residual commission

On orders your customers place themselves through the website without your direct involvement. Your work building the relationship still gets recognised, even when the customer reorders independently.

All commissions calculated on the wholesale ex-VAT order value. Paid monthly on the 15th, in arrears, by EFT into your nominated bank account once cleared funds have been received from the customer.

Provincial territories

We're recruiting one to two agents per province, with a strong preference for agents who already have established relationships in their region's farming community.

Provinces currently open for applications:

  • Western Cape
  • Eastern Cape
  • Northern Cape
  • Free State
  • KwaZulu-Natal
  • North West
  • Gauteng
  • Mpumalanga
  • Limpopo

Top-performing agents may be granted exclusive territory rights. Where territory volume justifies it, we may appoint a second agent for the same province under separate sub-territory arrangements.

Who we're looking for

You don't need to fit a single mould — but the most successful BioAktiva agents tend to combine technical agricultural knowledge with practical sales experience. We welcome applications from:

  • Qualified agronomists with a degree in agriculture, soil science, or plant science.
  • Holders of agricultural diplomas with hands-on experience advising farmers.
  • Practical farmers with substantial on-farm experience and strong relationships within their region's farming community.
  • Existing agricultural sales professionals looking to add BioAktiva biological inputs to their portfolio (subject to non-compete review).

What you bring to the table matters more than what's on your CV. If you can talk credibly to a farmer about soil biology, dosage, and on-farm results, we want to hear from you.

What we provide

  • Training — initial product training covering the science behind BioAktiva biological inputs, application protocols, and dosage calculations. Ongoing technical updates as the product range expands.
  • Marketing material — printed brochures, technical data sheets, dosage charts, and digital assets for use with your customers and on your own channels.
  • Sample stock — sample product shipped to you on payment of cost, fully credited against your customer's first order. This means demos cost you nothing in the long run.
  • Dedicated agent dashboard — track your customer accounts, order history, commission earned, and pending payouts in one place.
  • Direct technical support — escalate technical questions you can't answer to our internal team for fast, accurate responses.
  • Brand backing — sell a product range that's import-quality, science-backed, and supported by SA farming case studies.

How onboarding works

  1. Apply via the form below. Tell us about your background, your region, and the customer base you'd target.
  2. We review within 5 business days. Strong applications are invited to a video call to discuss territory, commercial terms, and onboarding pace.
  3. Sign the agent agreement. A standard agent agreement covering territory, commission, confidentiality, and termination terms.
  4. Complete product training. A live training session covering the BioAktiva range, application science, and how to use the agent dashboard.
  5. Receive marketing kit and sample stock. Sample stock is shipped on payment of cost, fully credited back against your first customer order.
  6. Start prospecting. Your dashboard goes live, you start placing orders for customers, commission accrues automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a full-time role?

No. BioAktiva agents operate independently as commission-only sales representatives. You set your own hours, manage your own customer base, and decide how much to put in. Many of our prospective agents combine this with consulting, farming, or other agricultural businesses.

Are agents employees of Fertile Acre (Pty) Ltd?

No. Agents are independent contractors operating under a sales agency agreement. You are responsible for your own tax registration, vehicle expenses, and business operating costs. Commission is paid to you as an invoice from your own business or registered sole proprietorship.

Can I sell competing products at the same time?

Generally yes, provided the products you also sell don't directly compete with BioAktiva's biological soil conditioner range (SaproGro, HumiGro, MicroGro, Amilock). Complementary products — fertilisers, irrigation equipment, agricultural services — are fine. Direct competitors are subject to discussion at the application stage.

What if a customer wants to buy directly without my involvement?

You still earn 2% residual commission. Once a customer is associated with your account, your commission tracking continues regardless of how they place orders. This is by design — we want agents to build customer relationships, not gatekeep transactions.

What if I underperform?

Our agent agreement includes a 6-month review checkpoint. Agents not meeting minimum activity thresholds may be moved to a non-exclusive territory arrangement, allowing us to bring in additional agents while you continue to earn commission on your existing customer base. We don't terminate agents unilaterally without good cause.

How quickly can I start earning?

From application to first commission cheque is typically 6 to 10 weeks: 1–2 weeks for application review, 1 week for training and onboarding, then your first customer orders flow through. Established agronomists with existing customer relationships often place orders in their first week of being live.

Apply for a territory

Use the form below to submit your application. Tell us about yourself, your region, and the customer base you'd be working with. Strong applications are typically those that demonstrate concrete agricultural experience and a clear sense of who you'd be selling to.

By submitting this application, you agree to our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. Your application data is processed in accordance with POPIA.

What happens next?

You'll receive automated confirmation immediately after submission. We aim to make initial approval decisions within 5 business days. Strong applicants are invited to a video call to discuss territory and commercial terms.
