1. What is BioAktiva?

BioAktiva is a brand of Fertile Acre (Pty) Ltd, specialising in biological agricultural inputs. Our flagship product, SaproGro™, is a registered Group 2 liquid organic fertilizer (Reg. No. B6628, Act 36 of 1947), made from freshwater sapropel.

You can buy SaproGro™ directly from our online store at www.bioaktiva.co.za/shop. We deliver throughout South Africa. Trade accounts are available for commercial farmers and retailers.

SaproGro™ is a liquid organic fertilizer derived from sapropel — a nutrient-rich freshwater organic sediment. It is registered and sold under its approved label (Reg. No. B6628, Act 36 of 1947). Its registered profile includes nitrogen (60 g/kg), potassium (8.5 g/kg) and iron (477 mg/kg), at a specific gravity of 1.05. Always use according to the label directions.

Always apply according to the approved label directions. The general application rate is a 1:400 dilution at 1–2 litres per hectare, applied at key growth stages through the season. For home gardens, use our Dosage Calculator (link: /#calc) to work out the quantity for your garden size, and follow the label.

SaproGro™ can be used across vegetable gardens, fruit trees, lawns and ornamental gardens, applied according to the label directions for each use.

SaproGro™ is a low-dose liquid organic product. As with any garden product, keep it out of reach of children and pets, and allow the application to dry before resuming normal garden use. Always follow the safety and handling guidance on the label.

Yes. SaproGro™ can be applied through hydroponic nutrient-flow systems at a 1:400 dilution (product to water/nutrient solution), as a pulse no more frequently than every 10–14 days. Follow the label directions.

SaproGro™ can generally be combined with most fertilisers, pesticides and fungicides. Add SaproGro™ last to keep your mixing ratios accurate. If you have recently applied a herbicide, we suggest waiting at least 7 days before applying SaproGro™. When in doubt, test on a small area first and follow all product labels.

After opening, use within 3 months when stored in cool, dry conditions. Natural sediment or microorganisms may develop after opening — simply shake well before each use.

SaproGro™ is a registered Group 2 liquid organic fertilizer designed to be used as part of your overall soil-care and nutrition routine, according to the label directions. Use it alongside your existing programme as the label directs.

Application timing depends on your crop and region. For most crops the main application window is the growing season. A pre-season soil drench in late winter can help prepare your soil ahead of spring. Follow the label directions for your use.

MicroGro™ is our upcoming range of powder-form microbiological inputs. Amilock™ is our range of biological odour and waste-management products. Both are in development and pending registration, and will be announced once registered. Contact us to register your interest.
